WTF?
I have Atypical Cystic Fibrosis. Classical CF has a life expectancy of 36 and after being largely bedridden for months, I was diagnosed just before my 36th birthday.
After being treated like a hypochondriac and lazy, whiny bitch most of my life, I took some satisfaction in spending the next six months telling ER doctors "I'm a newly diagnosed 36 year old Cystic Fibrosis patient." and watching their eyes pop out their head and roll across the floor.
I began getting better and my CF specialist -- who was probably married and crushing on me -- scheduled me fewer appointments "because he had patients who needed him." No, he didn't express curiosity about how I was getting better.
Fast forward a bit and I'm doing better, not seeing a CF specialist at all because I moved and felt able to handle it myself, so I didn't bother to waste my time, and I don't know my alleles, so people online all think I'm a teller of tall tales and people are extremely mean to me.
I'm also a survivor of incest twice over and I also raised and homeschooled two difficult kids. So I know a lot of stuff about mental, social and emotional stuff.
